Increase Guaranteed Income Supplement by 5%, reduce RRIF minimum withdrawal by 25%

The Liberal Party proposed these steps to help retirees dealing with unstable markets and economic worries. The Guaranteed Income Supplement increase is meant to give low-income seniors up to $652 extra per year, tax-free. Lowering the minimum amount people must take from their retirement funds (RRIFs) offers flexibility during these times. Both changes are set to last for one year.
