Health & Safety—NDP

Expand mental healthcare

The NDP plans to commit $100 million intended to improve mental-health services for young people. Of that money, $15 million/year over four years would be used to increase the efficiency of the current system as well as research and invest in best practices.

The [Mental Health Commission of Canada] has found that addressing childhood mental-health issues can lead to lifetime health-care savings of up to $140,000. - CBC
