What is the Trans-Pacific Partnership?

The TPP is a cross-pacific trade agreement including Canada, USA, Japan, Chile, New Zealand, Vietnam, Malaysia, among others.

  • Looser requirements for tariff-free cars and trucks, allowing cars to be manufactured outside of North America
  • Copyright protections will become much stricter, enforcing criminal charges when violating copyright law, and restricting free use
  • Would open small part of dairy, poultry and egg markets (1.5% to 3.25% of production) to foreign imports
